Support for Canadian small and medium-sized businesses entering new export markets, including market research and trade show participation.
CanExport is a federal program that Global Affairs Canada administers. CanExport helps Canadian small and medium-sized businesses develop new export markets by funding market-entry activities such as international market research, trade show participation and adapting marketing materials for a target market.
CanExport funds the cost of entering a market a company does not already sell into, which makes it a different question from the research-and-development programs. Eligibility turns on the target market rather than the technical nature of the work.
Global Affairs Canada assesses applications through the Trade Commissioner Service, under its own published criteria.
The Global Affairs Canada administers CanExport and publishes the current criteria, amounts and deadlines. That page is the authority on all three.
The GrantMark eligibility check asks thirteen questions about a company and screens the answers against a maintained catalog of Canadian federal and provincial funding program rules, CanExport among them. Nothing is generated, so the same answers always produce the same result, and every program that comes back traces to the rule that let it through.
GrantMark is not a government agency and does not decide eligibility. A GrantMark assessment shows which programs a company appears to qualify for. It is where an application starts, and nothing more.
Thirteen questions, about two minutes. The check is free.
